8 of Cups & Knowing When to Move On

The Eight of Cups was one of the first cards that helped me have an epiphany. Sometimes we just have to let it go and move on. As spiritual mavericks & adventurers, it is really easy to get stuck in a perpetual cycle of investigating past pain. It starts as a genuine desire for answers & a deeper understanding of ourselves, but it can quickly morph into something akin to wallowing. Shadow work is incredibly important but there are times when we can become fixated on our past trauma or mistakes or "flaws" that we forget to move on & live in the present.

That is one of the many lessons that the 8 of Cups teaches us. It is ok to let it go - for an hour, for a week, for a year or forever. There comes a time when we have spent as much time as we can in the past - when we can't evaluate or speculate any more. When we have felt guilty enough, angry enough & hurt enough. Life happens in the NOW. Our power is here & now. We cannot change the past & we cannot prepare for every possible outcome in the future. All we can do is our best in this moment, right here. Let go of the old battles you are still fighting long after all the other warriors have gone home. Your inheritance is joy & peace which cannot be achieved when you allow the past to rule you.

Let it go. You deserve it.

XOXO
